Kenze Gorges

Have you ever tried hiking in Ukambani? If not, you might want to try out this unique hiking experience in Makueni County. The Kenze river trek lies on the hills of Kilome. The starting point is at Mukaa, a little town where the first inland mission was started in 1903. From the town, we head down to the surrounding hills where a few residents live. Then, we walk along a lush green temporary river line with unique rock formations and rock pools

What is so special about this trail

  • Breathtaking geological formations. You might want to come to check out mother nature showing off the beautiful rock formations on this trail.
  • Kenze river gorge. If you’ve seen rivers and wondered what was on the riverbed, Kenze river gorge shows you the secrets that have been hidden under the water.
  • Duff mpararo (swimming). If you love swimming outdoors, there is a rock pool where you can jump in to cool down from the Makueni heat.
